Summary
Under the authority of the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you perform various maintenance and mechanical repair work on defective equipment. The site mechanic stands out by his versatility in order to make the necessary repairs on various mining equipment and support stock. You are also called upon to do other types of work necessary for the maintenance of equipment.
Main tasks and Responsibilities
- Determines the nature of defects and failures in order to pinpoint the magnitude of the repairs to be performed;
- Adjusts the equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, installations or components using manual or mechanical tools;
- Tests repaired equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and that repairs conform to the requirements;
- Cleans and lubricates equipment and performs other routine maintenance work;
- Performs any other related tasks linked to the job.
Profile and requirements
- Hold a in on site equipment mechanics or other mechanically related training;
- Have 3 years of experience in hydraulic, pneumatic and electric mechanics;
- Hold a valid Workplace First Aid card (CPR);
- Hold a valid driver’s licence;
- Be accurate and have a good time effective speed;
- Have a good physical condition
- Ability to work in isolated environments for long periods of time and in the wilderness;
- Be able to travel by air and helicopter;
- Be able to work in a changing and extreme climate environment during the winter season;
- Knowing the mining sector and diamond drilling would be an asset;
- Have good level of concentration and good judgement.
Schedule
- 28/14, – 28 consecutive days of work followed by 14 days off;
- 12 hours per day;
- Overtime after 40 hours per week.
