Summary
The driller works closely with his helper to ensure the good progress of drilling operations. Always in a safe environment, he has the whole responsability of the performance and productivity.
Functions
- Ensure the drill is safety (woodshed and clearing brush as needed, althought stabilizing, tools in the right place);
- Having the right plans and specifications;
- Ensure proper functioning of the controls of the drill;
- Regulary check the dials of the drill to check the pressure, depth and the RPM of the drill;
- Take placement tests within the borehole;
- See the mainteance and repair of the drill.
Profile and Physical requirements
- Hold a professional study diploma in diamond drilling;
- Hold the card Aid in the Workplace (CPR);
- Have a valid driver’s license;
- At least two years experiences;
- Usually seated to operate the drill;
- May raise drill rods (50 lbs in 10-foot lengths or 100lbs in 20 foot lengths);
- May raise drill rods with the wrists to shoulder height;
- Walking in forest and on uneven ground;
- Move, pulling or pushing different loads.
Schedule
- Variable schedule;
- 12 hrs /day;
- Day/night shifts.
